Occupational Therapist
- OT is a profession that helps children with challenges that effect the daily
activities of home and school life. OT’s work with children who have autism spectrum
disorders, cerebral palsy and other neuron-motor disorders, developmental disabilities,
sensory processing disorder, physical disabilities and many other illnesses, injuries or
impairments. Currently, OT’s must have a graduate degree from an accredited university and
a license to practice in New Mexico.
Physical Therapist
— PT is a healthcare profession that focuses on the prevention and management of movement disorders.
PT’s often work with children who have cerebral palsy and other neurological disorders, developmental
disabilities. Currently, PT’s must have a graduate degree from an accredited university and must have
a license to practice in New Mexico.
Speech/Language Pathologists
— SLP’s treat patients who have communication delays, disorders and deficits. This includes difficulty
with making speech sounds, understanding what is being said, expressing one’s self in language, feeding
and swallowing, and auditory processing disorders. SLP’s also help people who are non-verbal to communicate
with communication devices. SLP’s have graduate degrees and are licensed in New Mexico.
Educational Diagnosticians
— Educational Diagnosticians assess a child’s academic abilities. At EASi, many of our Ed. Diag’s. evaluate children
in their schools in New Mexico and participate as a member of the child’s multidisciplinary team. They also conduct
private evaluations at our EASi clinic. Educational Diagnosticians have graduate degrees and are licensed in New Mexico.
